1,760 kg of recyclables collected!

Together with our recycling partners, the ezi team was in action this afternoon to support the Sembawang West Recycling Drive.

Ms Poh Li San, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sembawang GRC (Sembawang West) kicked off the event by welcoming volunteers stationed across different blocks via a virtual call over Zoom. Ms Poh also went door to door to collect the recyclables with the volunteers and raised awareness among Sembawang West residents on how to recycle right.

Residents were informed earlier on the recyclable items we were collecting, and to leave their contributions at their doorsteps for collection. We were heartened to see among participating residents that they were mindful of doing their part to protect the environment, and they made sure their recyclable items were dry and clean for collection.

The recyclable items were segregated into the different materials and weighed by our recycling partners. Everyone was delighted to learn that over 1,700kg of recyclables were collected from today’s recycling event.

After the recyclables collection segment, Ms Poh presented tokens of appreciation to the cleaners of Sembawang Town Council to recognise their hard work in maintaining the cleanliness of Sembawang West. Representatives from our recycling partner, TK76 Recycle & Trading Pte Ltd, also received a token of appreciation from Ms Poh and Mr Neo Hong Keat (Managing Director, SembWaste Pte Ltd) for their continuous efforts in recycling and contributions towards a greener Singapore.

A big "Thank You" to Sembawang Town Council and residents of Sembawang West for having us today. We look forward to partnering you in future recycling events.
